HoneyAid for rural women’s empowerment

10 May, 2016

Nepal was devastated by the earthquake in 2015. As the country begins to rebuild IsraAID has focused on many different projects including livelihoods skills training for women, offering women in earthquake affected rural communities an opportunity to earn an income. In Nepal we have just finished the fourth course of our women honey cooperative with 50 participants. We are so proud of the women wanting to learn and run their own business. Total of 124 women so far! / NOW THAT IS REAL women’s empowerment!!!! The women were thought how to manage beehives and produce honey. They were also trained on how to market the product and sell it to local groceries and honey exporters. We celebrated the first training with apples and honey.
